UFC on Versus 2 Weigh-In Results
The UFC on Versus 2 weigh-ins took place earlier this evening at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California.
All fighters made weight with the exception of DMarques Johnson who missed the 171 lbs. limit by 1.5 lbs. He’ll be given additional time to cut the extra weight.
James Irvin looked a million times better back at light heavyweight. Hopefully he’ll make it through tomorrow night’s fight without any freak injuries. Brian Stann makes his debut in the middleweight division tomorrow. He was definitely leaner, but didn’t look emaciated at 185 like Irvin did.

Fighters in non-title fights are allowed to weigh in one pound over the weight class limit.
UFC on Versus 2 will take place tomorrow, August 1, at the San Diego Sports Arena in San Diego, California and will air live on Versus at 9PM ET/6PM PT.

UFC on Versus 2 weigh-in results: Jones (206), Matyushenko (206) official
The classic battle of youth vs. experience is now official, as both Jon
Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko made weight for their UFC on Versus 2
clash.
Today's weigh-in ceremonies, which saw all but one of the 20 competitors
from Sunday's Versus-televised card make weight on their first pass
across the stage, took place at the San Diego Sports Arena.
The same venue hosts Sunday's 10-fight event.
UFC on Versus 2 Preview: Dana White Gives Title Shot Timetable For Jon Jones And Yushin Okami
Dana White called in during Versus’ The Daily Line to preview UFC on Versus 2.
Despite all the hype around Jon Jones, Dana says not to overlook Vladimir Matyushenko this weekend. He stressed that Matyushenko’s a legitimate test for Jones, and even if Jones wins, he’s still “probably a year” away from a title shot.
“Once [Jones] breaks into that top eight, you’re talking Shogun Rua, you’re talking [Lyoto] Machida, you’re talking Rampage Jackson, you’re talking Rashad Evans, you’re talking all the best guys in the world right now. He’s got a long way for a title shot. It’s gonna take a while. He’s gotta knock off some serious competition.”
Dana also seems to think it’s time to put Yushin Okami in the title picture if he beats Mark Munoz, something a contingent of fans have been calling for for quite awhile.
“Winning this fight would be big. I say it all the time, Yushin Okami is one of the best 185lb’ers in the world and has been for a while. This guy’s due for a title shot.”
If Anderson Silva is going to stay at middleweight, he’s going to need challengers (assuming he doesn’t slip). After Sonnen and Belfort, who better than Okami?
